Hardware Requirements

Although your practice may already be outfitted with some of the recommended hardware specifications, we also provide hardware recommendations through our alliances with Gateway and Dell. The following hardware is needed to operate all solutions:

Intended to support 15 or less users 
Server

• Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor E4300 (2MB L2 Cache, 1.86 GHz, 800 FSB), 2GB RAM
  
• Storage: 2 X 250 GB HD RAID 1
  
• Operating System: Windows Server Standard 2003 R2 
  

Intended to support 15 to 30 users 
Server

• Processor: 1.86 GHz Intel Xeon Quad-Core, 4 GB RAM
  
• Storage: 3 X 500 GB HD RAID 5
  
• Operating System: Windows Server 2003 R2 
  

If you are considering implementing our solution in multiple site locations, we recommend using a server for each location.

• Monitor and Workstations must have XP Pro, Vista Business or Vista Ultimate with minimum 512 RAM, 40GB HD, and 2.5 GHZ.
  
• Other Network and Workstation Considerations
  

When utilizing the Virtual Educator:

• The network must be a wired network.
  
• Each monitor showing the Virtual Educator material must have a dedicated workstation with XP Pro, Vista Business or Vista Ultimate with minimum 512 RAM, 80GB HD, and 2.5 GHZ.
  

Recommended monitor specifications:

• Size: 19" or greater 
  
• Monitor Resolution: 1024 X 768 or greater
  

If there are multiple site locations (clinics) using the Virtual Educator, each site location will require its own server.
Alternative Networking Options:
